Concussion Treatment and Management

Complete Concussion Management
What is Concussion Management?
Concussion management isn’t about just one type of therapy—like chiropractic, physiotherapy, or massage. It’s about delivering evidence-based, best-practice care that reduce symptoms, support recovery, and helps you return safely to school, work, sport, and daily life.
At Pro Function, Joseph Greenwood follows a structured concussion symptom management roadmap to guide you through every stage of recovery:
– Reducing early symptoms and helping you understand what to expect
– Supporting your return to school, work, or sport, step by step
– Restoring physical function, including balance, coordination, and exercise tolerance
– Improving cognitive and functional performance, so you feel more clear, focused, and capable
– Helping you return to the activities you love with confidence
Dr. Joseph draws on training from respected programs including: Complete Concussion Management, Shift Concussion Management, and Concussion Rehab Works
What is Concussion Management Treatment?
Treatment is designed to gradually reintroduce activity and retrain your brain and body to work together again. This may include:
– Postural exercises to reduce balance issues with standing and walking
– Vestibular and visual motion exercises to help with dizziness and eye fatigue/strain
– Functional movement with vestibular-ocular integration—a fancy way of saying “moving your head and eyes together without bringing on symptoms”
We also help take care of the paperwork by providing supporting letters to your school, employer, or medical team to make your day-to-day life easier.
What If Symptoms Last Longer?
Most people recover from a concussion within 4 weeks. If symptoms last longer, we provide targeted assessments to figure out why—and what to do next. Ongoing symptoms are often linked to:
– Neck or whiplash-related injuries
– Vestibular or oculomotor (eye movement) issues
– Autonomic dysfunction, such as difficulty with exercise or blood flow regulation
Our goal is to remove the uncertainty and give you a clearer path forward—based on what your body needs to recover.
