Functional Movement Assessments
Selective Functional Movement Assessment
Are you suffering from pain or stiffness that is impairing your athletic performance or your quality of life?
The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a series of movement tests designed to assess fundamental patterns of movement such as bending and squatting in people with previously known musculoskeletal pain.
By examining how the body functions as a whole rather than examining one specific area where you feel pain the clinician has the opportunity to go beyond treating symptoms to identify what caused or contributed to the injury in the first place and from there prescribe a treatment plan that targets those specific cause or causes.
Y Balance Test
The Y Balance Test was developed through years of research in injury prevention and identification of motor control changes that occur after injury. The Y Balance Test is a simple way to measure a person’s motor control and demonstrate functional symmetry. This gives the practitioner a map that identifies road blocks to a person’s functional performance both in rehabilitation and performance worlds.
